Disaster Recovery for NonStop Servers
Is
your NonStop server prepared? Let us
help you design, plan and implement a complete Disaster Recovery solution for
your NonStop Server(s). Some of the
things we take into consideration….
-
Recoverability Point Objective (RPO) – The recency of the data to be recovered, or when it was last backed up/replicated.
-
Recoverability Time Objective (RTO) – The amount of time allowed between a disaster and complete recoverability.
-
Relative Outage Rate – The cost per minute, day, or hour an outage costs the company.
In some businesses this
is determined via loss of life vs. funds.
- ACID
test – Atomicity, Consistency, Isolation and Durability of the data. Any data to be used for recovery must
be ACID tested.
- Tape
Management, offsite storage, rotation cycle, duplicate copies, etc.
- TMF
Configuration – Audit trail size, quantity, rollover rate. Online Dump sequencing, and performance
of recoveries. Auxiliary audit
trails for performance. Catalog
location, retention, and media usage.
- Replication
– Either in whole or part depending on the RTO and RPO.
- Mirrored
Site – Again, depending on RPO, RTO, and ROR.
- Evaluation,
Recommendation, and/or Installation of appropriate software – including RDF,
AutoSync, AutoTMF, TIP, GGS E/R, DRNET, ShadowBase, or others.
